What Are You Really Resisting Today?
What do you keep forgetting to do?
I keep forgetting to contact someone who can replace the newly washed storm doors for a seldom used deck over our garage. When I stepped onto the deck for the window washer to show me how warped the tracks were, I noticed that the deck railing needed painting also.
We have lived in our home since 1970, and it wasn’t new then. Things frequently need repair, and our do-it-yourself days are long past. I know a reliable contractor. I just keep forgetting to text him.
I thought I was writing about a problem I needed to solve later however just thinking about it changed things.
I knew my energy was stuck. When I asked myself why, I realized I have an image of workers going in and out of my office, my private space, to make repairs. Then I knew that the trigger was that image.
I just said the sentences, inserting a description of that image as the trigger and I had an urge to text the contractor. I interrupted writing this and sent the text. He responded and the process of getting the job done is underway.
I can’t promise that you will get your forgotten task done as quickly as I just did. Try it and see. Once you identify what is holding you back, you can reclaim your energy and solve the problem.
