Who Taught You to Replay Every Loss?
Do you sometimes replay conversations you wish you could do differently? I hope you manage to avoid anything like the time I felt completely overwhelmed by the rapid-fire “facts” and figures a woman with political views I opposed threw at me across the lunch table.
It doesn’t matter what started it. I just wanted to get away. When I finally did, my mind kept buzzing with things I could have said if only I’d had the presence of mind to do so.
After a half-hour of “if only” I finally remembered that I could use the three sentences to reclaim my energy from replaying that miserable encounter. My trigger was my memory of the conversation. I changed one word. ‘My’ became ‘this’ because I wanted to be rid of thinking about the situation instead of holding on to it by claiming it as mine.
I said the sentences and immediately started thinking about an upcoming meeting.
This is a wonderful tool for getting rid of anything you can’t seem to stop thinking about. Once you have used the instructions in LETTING IT GO a few times, I suggest you download the free copy I have set up for your phone so you have them when you need them.
This is the link if you want to check it out, www.BooksbyLaurie.com/guide but having the information in the book will make everything much easier. Get your book and get started now.
This post is a comment I wrote about a passage on original Page 90Page 75 revised edition of Letting It Go: Relieve Anxiety and Toxic Stress in Just a Few Minutes Using Only Words (Rapid Relief with Logosynthesis®). You can see the passage in the book. You can also see the excerpt here. This link will take you to Bublish.com, where I regularly publish comments on parts of this book. This is a site where authors share of their work. You can subscribe to my musings, there, as well as to the musings of many other authors. It’s a great place to learn about new books and I recommend that you visit.
