Does the phrase, do what you love and the money will follow, mean anything to you? It may not be easy, but it is possible.
The flip side of that may be even more important. When my husband and I learned that investing in real estate was a way to increase our net worth, we invested quite a bit of time, energy and money trying to do so. We were doing it just for the purpose of making money. Since we didn’t love it, we asked other people to manage our investments and eventually lost a significant amount of money.
Once we went back to our first love, the practice of psychotherapy, we earned enough money to live comfortably and, with the advice of well recommended financial planners, to retire comfortably and happily.
If you don’t know what you love to do, consider looking at what gives your life meaning and satisfaction. I spoke with a tech expert who left a well-paying job to share his ability to communicate about and solve tech problems for frustrated people. He loves it and it’s slowly building up a clientele and a respectable income.
Even if you are not able to do this, just knowing what you truly love to do will help you stay alert for opportunities. “Embrace Prosperity” has different interesting activities to help you learn how.
