Are you clinging to yesterday’s abundance?

I’m excited about being invited to a white elephant gift exchange. The idea that it will be an exchange where people get to choose to open a new gift or “steal” something someone else has chosen makes it even better.

Somehow, this seems like more fun than going out and purchasing something new for a similar event. When I stopped and examined the difference, it was about sharing abundance I once enjoyed with someone else.

I still have things that once delighted me that no longer fit my current lifestyle.  Knowing that someone else can choose something I loved because it appeals to them, or perhaps they couldn’t have purchased for themselves, makes me smile.

How about you? Which kind of exchange seems more appealing to you? There is no right answer.

I know that abundance for some people means having something brand new that nobody else has ever used feels best. That might be especially true if you were a younger kid from a big family and rarely had anything new.

For others like me who have accumulated many things over many years, passing them on to new homes offers more joy. Just mentally inventorying what I might give away is helping me think of other ways of sharing—perhaps on a “buy nothing” social media site.

Sorting out what is important for you to be, do and have is a critical part of what our book helps you learn so you can “Embrace Prosperity” in your life.

This article is a comment I wrote about a passage on Page 113 of Embrace Prosperity: Resolve Blocks to Experiencing Abundance (Rapid Relief With Logosynthesis®) You can see the passage in the book. You can also see the excerpt here.
