Rewrite the Money Story You Inherited

Your life experiences with money influence how you relate to your money today. The title of a book, Money is My Friend, was an entirely new idea when I first encountered it. I had only thought of money as a tool, not a friend or enemy.

Sometimes it’s what our family says or does about money that has the biggest impact. Sometimes it’s discovering that your first credit card isn’t about free money. You actually need to pay the bill.

For me, it was a class I took my last semester in college. Food Economics seemed like it might be useful for someone who was getting married soon, so I signed up. Our fieldwork involved clipboards and price comparisons of cost per serving of long lists of items at grocery stores. This was long before unit pricing was easily available to consumers.

I learned basic information that has influenced my shopping for decades. And each time I shop, I spend several dollars less than I would have if I didn’t understand what I learned so long ago. It has contributed to living comfortably when we were poor and abundantly since then.

Think about what influenced you. Was it something that you consider helpful now? Is it something that stops you from achieving success you may think is impossible? It’s worth finding out.

EMBRACE PROSPERITY is filled with information and activities that will help you answer these questions and decide on your next step. Get your copy now.
