Break the Rule That Keeps You Small
I love the ad currently showing on YouTube that invites women into a free program to learn to think about creating wealth instead of just saving money. Maybe I’m so attracted to it because I was one of those women. I think many men have the same lack of information. Way too many people live paycheck to paycheck and are one unexpected bill away from financial calamity.
This is often a case of not knowing what you don’t know. If your family didn’t build wealth, they couldn’t teach you how and might even have been suspicious of people who did know how. You could have learned to be suspicious too. So, creating personal wealth simply may not have been on your radar.
That leaves you vulnerable to the get-rich-quick schemes masquerading as opportunities that assault you constantly. Me too! I’ve been there. I’ve lost money to both con men and incompetent dreamers.
I was lucky; I was just ignorant. I was enlightened by a (then) rare book on women and investing. Now there are many resources. But if you were taught financial security didn’t exist for someone like you, or if money was somehow bad, releasing those limiting beliefs will make it a lot easier to learn.
