Are You Secretly Waiting to Be Rescued?

A friend and I were talking about how we wish we had “lady’s maids.” We would love to have someone follow us around, pick up the clothes we drop in our hurry to get to the next activity, wash them if necessary and put them away.

I want to do what I am interested in now. I hate cleaning up messes, especially doing something like the paperwork messes I make myself. A part of me thinks that the world should revolve around me and automatically take care of all my needs and desires.

The wonderful office manager I hired many years ago to fulfill at least part of that wish is long gone. It’s up to me now and I know it. The lady’s maid exists only as a fantasy.

About once a week I manage the piles of most things I accumulate, often while listening to a podcast or recorded book. The paper piles are harder.

One way I manage to get them done is with a helper/babysitter whose job is to file things I hand to her. When my helper isn’t available, I use the Logosynthesis® process I teach in this book to “retrieve my energy bound up is the fantasy that someone should do this for me….”

If you let things pile up like I do, try using that phrase in the three sentences. Another phase might be, “this belief that that I can’t stand doing this kind of work.” Try it. You’ll be amazed.

This post is a comment I wrote about a passage on Page 57 revised edition, Page 61 original of  Letting It Go: Relieve Anxiety and Toxic Stress in Just a Few Minutes Using Only Words (Rapid Relief with Logosynthesis®). You can see the passage in the book. You can also see the excerpt here. This link will take you to Bublish.com, where I regularly publish comments on parts of this book. This is a site where authors share of their work. You can subscribe to my musings, there, as well as to the musings of many other authors. It’s a great place to learn about new books and I recommend that you visit.
